Become is effectively a network of student churches and communities. Become is based in Sheffield and is part of St Thomas' Church Philadelphia and the Kings Centre Christian Church. We are committed to seeing student churches living for jesus and making a difference. Our belief is that students are in an amazing position to disciple every person they come into contact with, whether at Church, in halls, in lectures or just whilst enjoying University life. We are committed to training, resourcing and seeing this happen!! Below is some info about each of our become bases. Take a look around and get in contact if you want to know more!
Student Church:
There are so many cheesy lines about community (a problem shared is a problem halved/ no man is an island, etc)... Although they’re a bit pap, there is some truth in the sentiment... We believe that we were made to share life with the people around us.
Having a group of people to have a laugh with but also to share the more deep times and even the hard times with makes life all the richer. We are all really different but our common ground is our love for Jesus. This in part is what Church is all about; being a community of people that look out for each other, share life and want to make a difference in the lives of those around them even when it costs.
Living for Jesus
We are passionate about getting to know Jesus better and being in relationship with him. We take Jesus at his word when he says in the Bible that he came to bring life in all its fullness; this means living life in full colour, without all the things that slow us down. Stresses, fears, insecurities and general hassles can really drag you down, but Jesus speaks about having his everlasting peace.
God's made us all unique and with extreme talents and potential. As a community we want to see everyone being all they were made to be. Whether we've been made creative, sporty, intellectual or just plain funky, we want to use our skills and gifts to love others and honour God!
Making a difference
We believe that everyone has a God given desire to have a positive impact on other people. God created us to be people that love others and so whether you’re a Christian or not we believe you most likely have a desire to make a difference in the lives of those around you and in your community and in the world.
Our hope is that by getting to know Jesus better, more of his love will rub off on us, causing us to be people who want to make a difference for the right reasons!!

become: Philly
Become: Philly is based at St Thomas' Church at Philadelphia. St Thomas Church, Philadelphia is a vibrant urban Church plant that is now home to a massive variety of people and communities. We meet in a warehouse and are an Anglican, Baptist and House/ Free church combined. We have a rich heritage that encompasses each of the three flavours. Philly is a massively creative base and a great place to belong. The morning service is filled with lots of families, youth and kids whilst the evening service has more of a student/ young adult feel. The students at Philly are passionate about prayer, the poor and living in authentic community. Click on the logo to find out more...
Become: KC
Become @ KC is the student base which is part of the King's Centre Church. The King's Centre is a fantastic community orientated Church that has masses of families and is a hugely exciting place to be a part of. The Kings Centre is based in Nether Edge. It is part of an area that encompasses the multicultural diversity of London Road with the bohemian flavours of Ecclesall Road all rounded off with the distinctly student influences from the nearby Collegiate and Endcliffe University campuses. It is an exciting place to be!
become: city
Become: City is part of our newest church plant. As we speak, things are in motion and the City base promises to be an exciting site to be a part of. With a vision to connect with students and young adults who would never normally grace the steps of a church building, City will look a little different to most churches. With a massive emphasis on prayer and justice and a very missional approach to discpleship, the city base is an evolving plant that is fully church, but may not fit the mould most of us are accustomed to... more info is coming soon!
